Energy Medicine, also known as Vibrational Medicine and Virtual Medicine, refers to the science and various therapies that interact with the body’s energy field, clinically referred to as the biofield.  This is a difficult concept to grasp, primarily because we still live in a society that is based on the mechanistic theories of Sir Isaac Newton.  Newton and his followers viewed the universe like a gigantic machine, much like a large clock.  The view of the human body followed this model.  The world of chemistry and biology, the study of matter, is different from the “invisible universe” of quantum physics. 

According to Einstein and quantum physics, the biochemical molecules that make up the physical body are a form of vibrating energy.  He maintained that matter and energy were two different forms of the same thing.  Matter is a form of “frozen” energy.  It is the energy that holds the matter together.  The human body can be viewed as a kind of “frozen energy” as well. 

Energy medicine is based on the invisible world of quantum physics, or what is happening behind the scenes.  The body’s energy field (biofield) can be utilized to assess energy imbalances many years before disease manifests in the physical state.  The imbalance in energy always precedes the physical manifestation.  This energy or biofield that surrounds and permeates the body can be quantifiably measured.  When an imbalance is detected, it can be corrected and harmonized to resume the proper flow of energy needed for optimal functioning.  There are many diagnostic and therapeutic methods used to assess and treat energy imbalances.

Traditional Chinese Medicine asserts that a good "medicine" is something that can be taken for life, has no toxic effects, and that prevents illness. Bioenergy Medicine has demonstrated that imbalances in energy precede physical manifestations of disease.
